Job summary

FIRST is seeking a Vice President of Information Technology to lead its ongoing technology transformation, overseeing a software development and IT operations team. The role focuses on aligning IT with the needs of students, families, educators, volunteers, and partners, delivering scalable tech solutions, and maturing the IT function toward independence.

The VP will drive a strategic roadmap, manage complex programs, and oversee cyber security, data integrations, and enterprise applications

Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience across IT and digital transformation.
• Experience leading multi-year technology initiatives.
• Ability to engage with developers, architects, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the next phase of digital transformation and develop a technology roadmap aligned with priorities.
• Assess and optimize existing technology investments, including enterprise platforms, e-commerce, and internal systems.
• Strengthen technology operating practices with governance, documentation, and health checks.
• Lead complex technology projects from planning through adoption and continuous improvement.
• Partner across the organization to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.
• Bring a human-centered approach to design and decision-making.
