Job summary

Western Washington University seeks an innovative Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services and Chief Information Officer to provide strategic leadership across infrastructure, software, and user services. Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible management and leadership experience in information technology and information security.
• Earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or international equivalent.
• Experience preparing and maintaining complex budgets.
• Understanding of public higher education values and principles.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven leadership in supervising technology personnel and driving improvement.
• Collaborative decision-making and cross-unit relationship building.
• Experience in strategic planning and executing IT solutions in a complex environment.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the university's information technology, including infrastructure, software, and user services.
• Lead ITS units and oversee a 100+ person organization across purposes such as academic technology, enterprise applications, and security.
• Drive major initiatives like Workday ERP transformation and digital transformation efforts.
• Foster collaboration across IT, academic, and administrative teams to enable student success.
