Job summary

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington in Vancouver, WA, seeks a Vice President of Finance to lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and stewardship across programs and operations. This executive role reports to the President and serves on the organization’s Executive Leadership Team.

You will shape multiyear plans, oversee audits, strengthen internal controls, manage cash flow, and lead a small finance and facilities team.

Qualifications

Active CPA license preferred; Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Progressively responsible accounting and finance leadership experience; nonprofit sector experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Lead financial operations and stewardship with the finance team.
Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting delivering timely statements.
Ensure internal controls and compliance with GAAP and donor requirements.
Coordinate annual audit and Form 990 with external auditors and tax professionals.
Partner with Development on donor accounting and forecasts.
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment policies.
Oversee payroll, benefits budgeting, and vendor contracts in collaboration with leaders.
