Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC in Sutton, MA, seeks a VP of Finance / Head of Finance to own the finance function and partner with the CEO to guide the company toward its $50 million revenue goal. Qualifications

• Progressive financial and accounting leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Significant FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing finance and cost accounting.
• Experience analyzing product, customer, and/or channel profitability.
• Strong understanding of margins, EBITDA, cost drivers, and operational profitability.
• Experience managing and forecasting cash flow and working capital.
• Experience analyzing inventory and its impact on financial and operational performance.
• Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting that help leaders make decisions.
• Strong accounting knowledge, including financial reporting, controls, reconciliations, and financial close.
• Experience evaluating capital expenditures, ROI, and significant business investments.
• The ability to translate financial information into practical recommendations for non-financial leaders.
• Experience with ERP systems and using financial and operational data to improve business visibility.
• The ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
• The confidence and communication skills to serve as a trusted financial partner to the CEO and leadership team.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA, CMA, MBA, or another relevant advanced credential is valued but is not the defining requirement for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Lead FP&A, including annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and ongoing performance analysis.
• Develop deeper visibility into product, customer, and channel profitability.
• Strengthen manufacturing finance and cost accounting capabilities.
• Analyze margins, cost drivers, pricing, and operational performance to identify opportunities for improved profitability.
• Manage and forecast cash flow and working-capital requirements.
• Develop stronger analysis around inventory levels, inventory investment, turns, and related financial impacts.
• Build meaningful financial dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting for the CEO and leadership team.
• Establish early-warning indicators that help leaders identify performance issues before they become larger problems.
• Oversee accounting operations, internal controls, financial reporting, reconciliations, and the financial close.
• Evaluate capital expenditures, business investments, and strategic initiatives through disciplined ROI and financial analysis.
• Help leadership evaluate competing priorities and allocate resources effectively.
• Create financial guardrails that allow department leaders to operate with greater accountability and autonomy.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost controls, processes, and overall financial performance.
• Use financial analysis to influence operational and strategic decisions across the company.
• Evaluate technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools that can improve efficiency, accuracy, and usefulness of finance and accounting.
• Assessing and developing the finance and accounting team needed to support continued growth.
