Job summary

Phoenix Tailings in the United States seeks a Vice President of Engineering Projects to lead execution of the company's largest capital programs, including the Freedom facility and future production assets.

This executive will own delivery from engineering development through construction, commissioning, and handoff, establishing governance, risk controls, and partnerships to enable safe, scalable, and economical industrial facilities aligned with Phoenix’s technology strategy.

Qualifications

• 15+ years delivering major capital projects in heavy industry.
• Proven leadership of programs with hundreds of millions in installed costs.
• Experience directing EPC/EPCM or owner-led delivery models.
• Track record taking projects from early engineering to handoff.
• Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, contracting, and risk.
• Ability to lead and challenge contractors while maintaining accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and execution strategy for major capital projects including the Freedom facility.
• Own delivery across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup.
• Direct and manage EPCM firms, consultants, and suppliers.
• Establish governance, stage-gate processes, design reviews, and risk management.
• Drive from front-end engineering through design, construction, and readiness.
• Provide executive oversight of budgets, forecasts, contracting strategies.
