Job summary

Phoenix Tailings is seeking a Vice President of Engineering Projects to lead the execution of major capital ventures, including the Freedom facility and future production infrastructure. You will own delivery across engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and startup, ensuring safety, cost control, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• 15+ years delivering major capital projects in mining, minerals processing, metals, chemical processing, or heavy industrial environments.
• Experience directing EPC, EPCM, or owner-led delivery models across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Proven track record leading large-scale capital programs with hundreds of millions of dollars in installed costs.
• Ability to review engineering decisions, challenge EPCM partners, and manage major project risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and execution strategy for Phoenix Tailings' major capital projects, including the Freedom facility and future assets.
• Own project delivery across engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and startup with clear accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and performance.
• Direct and manage EPCM firms, engineering consultants, construction partners, equipment suppliers, and other external orgs.
• Establish governance, stage-gate processes, design review standards, change controls, risk management, cost controls and reporting structures.
• Drive projects from conceptual design through detailed design, construction, commissioning and readiness.
• Provide executive oversight of capital budgets, forecasts, contracting strategies, and contingencies.
