Job summary

Phoenix Tailings is seeking a Vice President of Engineering Projects to lead the execution of pivotal engineering and capital programs, including the Freedom facility and future production assets. This executive will govern project delivery from development through commissioning, establishing robust governance, risk management, and external partnerships to accelerate growth.

The role requires delivering complex industrial facilities safely and efficiently, with responsibility for budgets,

Qualifications

15+ years of progressive experience delivering major capital projects in heavy industrial sectors.
Proven leadership of large-scale capital programs with multi-hundred million dollar TICS.
Experience directing EPC/EPCM or owner-led project delivery models.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering and execution strategy for major capital projects.
Own delivery across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and startup.
Direct and manage EPCM firms and external partners.
Establish governance, stage-gate processes, and cost controls.
Drive projects from FEED to operational readiness and handoff.
Provide executive oversight of budgets, forecasts, and contracting strategies.
Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, and supply-chain risks.
Build and lead an internal engineering projects organization.
