Job summary

Freedom Power Systems, Inc., a Vicor Corporation subsidiary, seeks an experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead the engineering function and own project/program execution. The role oversees a fully staffed team responsible for product development, system integration, sustaining engineering, compliance, scheduling, risk management, and disciplined program execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience in aerospace/defense/power systems.
• Proven success leading engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of system-level integration involving power modules, converters, filters, and packaging.
• Experience with regulatory/compliance standards (UL, MIL STD, FCC, CE, DO 160).
• Ability to manage projects and programs and deliver complex products on schedule.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision making abilities.
• ITAR requires U.S. person status.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for engineering and manage project/program execution.
• Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team (electrical, mechanical, software/firmware, test, network).
• Oversee full product lifecycle from concept to sustaining.
