Velen Capital is seeking a senior engineering leader who will own the platform, infrastructure, security, and the team that builds them. You will report to the CEO, work with the COO, and sit on the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Own engineering architecture, platform reliability and security.
• Hands-on with infrastructure and application code daily.
• Experience in fintech/wealth security and compliance.
• Proven leadership in growing an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, run and secure cloud infrastructure with IaC and GitOps.
• Own reliability, backups, DR, cost and on-call processes.
• Lead security engineering: IAM, secrets, encryption, logging.
• Patch dependencies and fix vulnerabilities on schedule.
• Ensure multi-tenant data isolation with automated tests.
• Review and ship Django/Python code and maintain fast pipelines.
• Collaborate on UX to scale product with performance and accessibility.
• Own services around the app and integrations with data providers.
• Own SOC 2 program and respond to audits and questionnaires.
• Hire, mentor and grow the engineering team.
