We need a strategic, security-conscious, and execution-driven Vice President of Engineering to lead our technology organization, ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, defining development strategies, and embedding best practices in software delivery and organizational structure. It requires technical expertise, managerial experience, and the ability to align engineering initiatives with business objectives.

What you'll be doing:

1. Compliance & Security:
2. Lead efforts to maintain and expand ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type I & II compliance.
3. Oversee IT security across infrastructure, products, and corporate environments.
4. Manage IT support operations, access provisioning, device management, and related systems.
5. Engineering Excellence:
6. Define and evolve engineering processes, team structures, and career frameworks for scalable development.
7. Drive performance management and professional growth within engineering teams.
8. Implement AI tools and modern development practices to enhance velocity and quality.
9. Lead architectural discussions and support scalable, secure, and maintainable system implementations.
10. Leadership & Collaboration:
11. Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Business leaders to align technology with strategic goals.
12. Manage engineering budgets, tools, and vendor relationships.
13. Set stakeholder expectations with transparent, data-driven communication.
14. Operational Oversight:
15. Ensure efficient provisioning and de-provisioning of access for employees and contractors.
16. Support incident management and escalation in coordination with security and DevOps teams.
17. Cultivate a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll need:

• 10+ years in engineering leadership, with a proven record of building and scaling teams.
• Experience leading ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance processes.
• Deep knowledge of modern software development, cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), and DevOps culture.
• Experience managing IT operations and security in a remote-first setting.
• Ability to work effectively with executive leadership and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts into business language.
• Experience with AI tool integration in workflows is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Background in SaaS or B2B tech environments.
• Hands-on experience in backend engineering, security, or infrastructure.
• Familiarity with scaling frameworks, OKRs, and performance metrics.
