Essential Functions:
- Design & implement tools used to attract inquiries from potential high net worth franchise developers.
- Generate consistent qualified leads and transfer those leads into new business.
- Setting and managing annual budget for franchise sales prospecting
- Responsible for creating the market area strategic business plan that will drive growth and development in selected markets.
- Liaise and develop recommendations for potential franchise prospect sources.
- The successful candidate will have cost center management responsibility for Franchise Sales and Development and accountability for meeting fiscal year budget projections
- Responsible for attaining annual sales goals.
- Being point of contact or all potential franchise inquiries & pre-qualifying the strongest received.
- Develop targets and interim goals while keeping CEO/COO/CFO abreast of current activity, i.e., existing and new franchise leads, working & priority, plus other franchise related activity.
- Participate in periodic franchise meetings, other organizational meetings, conferences and various other industry trade shows and expos.
- Work closely with current franchise owners and franchise business consultants.
- Management of prospects through the recruitment process:
- Track candidates through the process and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure that all policy, regulatory, and legal requirements are met or exceeded.
- Manage the application process with each candidate.
- Present applications for approval.
- Ensure candidates meet or exceed our requirements.
- Facilitate and participate in Discovery Day meetings.
- Present candidates for approval.
- Work with approved candidates to design development territories.
- Must be able to present executive level presentations.
The VP of Development has comprehensive responsibility for all aspects of franchise sales and brand development including the design and implementation of a comprehensive franchise development program.This individual will be responsible for networking, attracting, qualifying and closing new franchise deals.The VP of Development will bridge the gap between potential franchises and capital providers with programs that help secure funding.
This individual will also build a long-lasting business relationship with existing franchise partners wanting to contribute to the success and future of the brand by expanding with new growth within proximity to their existing markets and/or looking to sell existing locations.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in franchising
- IFA/CFE certification or desire to achieve such certification after hiring
- Must be adept in all facets of franchising and manage the sale from inquiry to restaurant opening
- Full knowledge of franchising disclosure and sales legality
- Relevant experience and contacts in the restaurant industry preferred
- Track record of success in franchising large scale complex locations.
- Experience with negotiating, restaurant development and site selection
- Proven track record generating leads
- Effective communicator both written and verbal
- Excellent interviewing and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and able to prepare presentations and spreadsheets.
- Ability to think strategically, multi-task
Internal/External Interactions:
Interacts with a wide variety of internal positions across functional areas.Works extensively with CEO, COO, CFO, General Counsel and franchise business partners. A successful partnership with Operations and Franchisees is essential to success in this position.
External contact is primarily with existing franchise partners, potential franchise partners and Commercial Real Estate Brokers as well as contacts for lead generation.
Leadership Responsibility:
It is anticipated that this position overtime will be responsible for creating a Franchise sales department and hiring and leading subordinates.
