Job summary

Harris Computer in New York, NY, is seeking a senior engineering leader to define and drive AI delivery maturity across a multi-product portfolio. You will integrate AI tools into roadmaps, govern AI-generated code, and ensure human-on-the-loop systems.

You’ll partner with executive teams to align AI strategy with revenue and customer outcomes. Responsibilities include owning release commitments, standardizing processes, managing budgets, and mentoring directors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Ten+ years in software development with at least three years leading engineering organizations at director level or above.
• Demonstrated hands-on use of AI development tools in daily work with a clear point of view on where they help, where they fail, and how quickly that is changing.
• Experience raising an engineering organization’s way of working from individual AI assistance to agentic, human-on-the-loop delivery, including governance and validation.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud technologies, modern development methodologies, and enterprise software delivery.
• Proven ownership of AI-enabled capability translating to customer value and revenue.
• Experience delivering multi-product portfolios with budget accountability.
• Experience delivering enterprise software to public sector or regulated markets is strongly preferred.
• Track record modernizing legacy platforms while supporting an installed customer base.
• Security review of AI-generated code and secure development practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering managers and directors across portfolio companies, setting clear goals and performance expectations.
• Recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent with succession planning.
• Set the expectation that every engineer works with AI tools as standard practice and provide training and time to get there.
• Structure the organization for onshore, offshore, and contract capacity to support agentic delivery.
• Promote transparency by making priorities, progress, and decisions visible across the organization.
