Vice President of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) - Solar
Job Summary
The Vice President of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) at Energix Renewables is responsible for overseeing all aspects of service and maintenance for utility-scale solar projects. This role ensures the efficient and reliable operation of solar assets by implementing best-in-class O&M strategies, maximizing energy production, and minimizing downtime. The VP of O&M will lead a team of professionals to optimize asset performance, manage risk, and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Management
- Develop and execute the O&M strategy to optimize asset performance and lifecycle management.
- Lead and manage the O&M team, including field technicians, engineers, and support staff.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure continuous improvement in operations.
Operations & Maintenance Oversight
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure maximum system uptime.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Implement advanced monitoring systems and predictive maintenance techniques to improve asset reliability.
- Develop maintenance schedules and protocols for optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage O&M budgets, including cost forecasting, expenditure control, and financial reporting.
- Oversee vendor and subcontractor relationships, negotiating contracts to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
- Ensure all service level agreements (SLAs) are met and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Technical & Performance Optimization
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Implement technology upgrades and innovative solutions to enhance solar plant performance.
- Collaborate with asset management and engineering teams to optimize operational processes.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all solar assets comply with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Develop and enforce risk management strategies to minimize operational disruptions.
- Lead root cause analysis for system failures and develop corrective action plans.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in O&M for utility-scale solar projects or related energy sectors.
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams and multi-site operations.
- Strong knowledge of solar technology, SCADA systems, and performance monitoring tools.
- Expertise in contract management, financial planning, and risk mitigation.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
