Global Edge Group is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Manager to oversee a growing portfolio of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and utility-scale Solar assets across the United States. This role requires hands-on operations leadership, contractor management, and a focus on safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in energy, strong BESS and Solar O&M experience, and a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager to support a growing portfolio of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and utility-scale Solar assets across the United States.

This is a high-impact position for an experienced renewable energy professional who understands what it takes to safely, reliably, and efficiently operate power generation assets in the field.

The successful candidate will combine strong BESS and Solar technical knowledge with hands‑on operations leadership, contractor management, site performance oversight, troubleshooting, safety leadership, and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Operations & Maintenance activities across BESS and Solar facilities throughout the United States.
• Manage the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of renewable energy assets.
• Provide operational leadership across multiple project sites and act as a key point of contact for field operations.
• Monitor plant and system performance, availability, reliability, and operational KPIs.
• Identify performance issues and coordinate corrective actions with internal teams, OEMs, EPC contractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of operational and technical issues involving BESS and Solar assets.
• Oversee scheduled, preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Manage third‑party O&M contractors, technicians, OEM representatives, and specialist service providers.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with contractual requirements.

Required Experience

The successful candidate should have:

• Minimum 7 years of relevant energy industry experience.
• Strong professional experience within BESS and Solar operations and maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing operating renewable energy assets.
• Previous operations management or field operations leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage Systems.
• Strong understanding of utility‑scale Solar PV facilities.
• Experience working with equipment manufacturers, EPC contractors, O&M providers, subcontractors, and field technicians.
• Experience managing preventative and corrective maintenance programs.

Highly Desirable Experience

Experience in several of the following areas would be highly advantageous:

• BESS commissioning and operational handover
• Solar PV operations
• Battery management systems (BMS)
• SCADA systems
• Power Conversion Systems (PCS)
• Inverters and MV/HV electrical equipment
• Preventative and predictive maintenance

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who can operate at both the site and management level.

You should be equally comfortable walking a BESS or Solar facility with field technicians, troubleshooting an operational issue with an OEM, challenging contractor performance, reviewing asset KPIs with senior management, and developing strategies to improve reliability across an entire portfolio.
