Job summary

Energy Northwest is seeking a Vice President of Nuclear Development to lead a portfolio of multi-billion-dollar projects, directing business development, planning, and execution for new nuclear facilities. The role engages with public utility districts, site characterization, licensing, and program development while driving strategy and staff development.

The VP role reports to the SVP/Chief Commercial Officer and emphasizes leadership, cost efficiency, safety, and a strong commitment to EN core

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science from an accredited college or university.
  • 15+ years progressive management/leadership experience, including presenting to boards and external organizations.
  • Experience with large ($40M+) EPC projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management direction with the creation of the vision, strategic objectives, and key business initiatives for Nuclear Development.
  • Apply and support the application of sound leadership principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrate EN core values in day-to-day activities.
  • Manage vendors and supplemental personnel to industry standards.
  • Identify project efficiencies and cost reduction methods to achieve strategic goals for cost of power.
  • Advance safety and environmental protection goals.
  • Develop current and future leaders through succession planning and coaching.
  • Coordinate with EN corporate and Columbia Generating Station leadership.
  • Support employee development through developmental plans and feedback.
  • Act for and discharge duties at VP level when designated.
  • Participate in industry groups such as EPRI, NEI, and PNUCC.
  • Interface with stakeholders including public utility district leadership and EN executives.
  • Manage financial consultants and contractors for new nuclear power plants.
