Job summary

AbCellera Biologics Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Medical Affairs to lead and shape the Medical Affairs function from the ground up.

This role reports to the Chief Medical Officer and collaborates with regulatory, clinical operations, clinical development, and future commercial teams to advance pipeline programs toward the clinic. The VP will build a field Medical Science Liaison team, develop medical communications, and oversee investigator initiated studies while focusing on

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD; MD preferred).
• 15+ years of Biotech/Pharma Medical Affairs experience.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience in prelaunch (phase 3) and postlaunch activities.
• Understanding of government/regulatory guidelines for compliant communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop Medical Affairs strategies to support prelaunch and postlaunch needs across the portfolio.
• Build and scale the Medical Affairs team including field MSLs.
• Develop medical communications and disease-state awareness strategies and engage patient advocacy groups.
• Partner with KOLs and oversee investigator-initiated studies.
• Create medical educational materials that are balanced and accurate.
• Guide reimbursement and market-access strategy development.
• Monitor competitive landscape and messaging for pipeline programs.
• Oversee publication strategy for conferences and journals.
• Manage departmental budgets to meet goals.
