Job summary

Northwestern Mutual seeks a seasoned VP to lead Whole Life, Term and Additional Benefit Pricing, guiding a 4–5 person actuarial team. You will shape pricing, product design, and compliance with tax and regulatory standards, partnering across underwriting, design, and field operations.

Your role combines strategic leadership with hands-on actuarial analysis to drive growth, risk management, and value for customers and the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries required with 10+ years of actuarial experience, life products preferred.
• Proven ability to build and sustain high-performing teams and leadership talent.
• Knowledge of Product Taxation rules and regulatory practices.

Responsibilities

• Provides actuarial leadership to price and design life and term products and benefits.
• Defines long-term pricing strategy aligning with enterprise goals and market dynamics.
• Leads pricing models, scenario analyses, and actuarial assessments for profitable growth.
• Advices senior leadership on design, pricing, profitability, and risk, translating analyses into decisions.
• Drives pricing capabilities, models, and processes for greater efficiency and insight.
• Mentors and develops a diverse actuarial team and fosters accountability.
