Job summary

Pacific Life in Charlotte, NC is seeking a VP to lead Inforce Management for Life Insurance. This senior role involves a hybrid schedule with relocation support and occasional travel for team meetings and training.

You will drive analytics on mortality, persistency, and profitability, translating insights into executive recommendations and portfolio strategies, while partnering across Finance, Risk, Product, and FP&A to shape pricing and governance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive actuarial experience within the life insurance industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• FSA strongly preferred; ASA with substantial leadership experience may be considered.
• MBA or advanced business degree preferred but not required.
• Deep understanding of Life insurance products and Inforce dynamics (mortality, persistency, policyholder behavior).
• Strong actuarial foundation with ability to connect analysis to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial and risk narrative for Life Insurance Inforce across blocks.
• Drive profitability sustainability, capital efficiency, and reinsurance strategy.
• Partner across Product, Finance, Risk, Legal, Reinsurance, Investments, and FP&A to influence actions.
• Frame tradeoffs between growth, earnings, capital efficiency, and risk.
• Lead mortality, lapse, and earnings attribution analysis with forward projections.
