Swiss Re’s U.S. Life and Health Underwriting team seeks a VP, Large Case Underwriter. The role focuses on high-stakes, large-case risk assessment, including foreign national business, with a hybrid work model across East Coast and Central regions.

The ideal candidate brings extensive large-case underwriting experience, strong client-relations skills, and deep knowledge of industry developments. This role offers meaningful impact and cross-functional collaboration within the Americas.

Formación

• Large Case Underwriting experience with $10 million approval authority.
• Significant experience with High Net Worth, Complex cases and foreign national business.
• Extensive knowledge of industry developments and medical advances that may impact underwriting decisions.
• Strong, established relationships across the life underwriting community.
• Collaborate with Medical staff and underwriting colleagues to ensure sound and consistent application of underwriting philosophy and guidelines.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate complex risks across medical, non-medical, financial, highly substandard, and multi-impairment cases.
• Underwrite large case and high net worth business, including foreign national cases.
• Deliver high-quality underwriting decisions that align with Swiss Re's risk appetite, pricing objectives, and corporate strategy.
• Build and nurture client relationships, serving as a knowledgeable, responsive, and trusted reinsurance partner.
• Stay current on medical advancements, global events, underwriting trends, industry developments, and the evolving regulatory environment to inform risk decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with pricing, product, legal, and other internal teams to drive well-rounded outcomes on complex cases and broader initiatives.
• Participate in and lead internal and external audit programs, contributing to governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Represent Swiss Re professionally at industry conferences, client meetings, and Swiss Re offices, acting as an ambassador for the brand and the team.
• Contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives, mentoring colleagues and supporting a culture of learning and development across the Americas.
• Support product and governance considerations, ensuring underwriting practices remain compliant, consistent, and aligned with evolving market standards.
