Job summary

Swiss Re is seeking a Vice President, Large Case Underwriter to lead complex life & health underwriting in the U.S. This senior role focuses on large, high-net-worth, and foreign national cases, delivering expert risk assessment and trusted client service.

You will partner with medical staff and cross-functional teams, contributing to governance and continuous improvement while representing Swiss Re at industry events and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Large Case Underwriting experience with authority for sizable approvals.
• Significant experience with High Net Worth and foreign national business.
• Knowledge of industry developments and medical advances affecting underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complex risks across medical, financial, and multi-impairment cases using disciplined underwriting.
• Underwrite large and high net worth business, including foreign national cases, with precision.
• Deliver underwriting decisions aligned with Swiss Re's risk appetite and pricing objectives.
• Build and nurture client relationships as a knowledgeable reinsurance partner.
• Stay current on trends and regulatory changes to inform risk decisions.
• Collaborate with pricing, legal, and product teams to drive outcomes on complex cases.
• Participate in audits and governance programs to support quality assurance.
