Job summary

Coventry Homes in the Austin area seeks a VP of Land Acquisition & Development to lead the division's land strategy, oversee identification, evaluation, acquisition, entitlements, and delivery of finished lots for new communities.

You will direct due diligence, zoning approvals, cost analyses, budgets, schedules, and cross‑functional collaboration with attorneys, engineers, municipalities, and builders to sustain growth and long‑term profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Significant experience in residential land acquisition and/or land development.
• Proven ability to evaluate, negotiate, and close land transactions.
• Strong understanding of residential development, zoning, entitlements, permitting, and construction.
• Experience managing development budgets, schedules, consultants, and contractors.
• Established relationships within the land, development, brokerage, or residential real estate community.

Responsibilities

• Lead land acquisition and growth strategy to support short- and long-term plans.
• Source and evaluate new land opportunities; build relationships with owners and brokers.
• Oversee due diligence, entitlements, and governmental approvals with attorneys, engineers, and regulators.
• Lead projects from acquisition through development and delivery of finished lots.
• Coordinate infrastructure, entrances, amenities, and development components with cross‑functional teams.
• Build a sustainable pipeline of communities and finished lots.
