Job summary

Citi is seeking an experienced Java Tech Lead at Vice President level to guide architectural strategy and hands-on delivery for large-scale digital initiatives. You will lead design reviews, shape engineering standards, and enable high-performing teams to build scalable Citi digital products.

In this hybrid role, you will mentor SDEs, drive design patterns, and influence technology direction across multiple lines of business.

Qualifications

6–10 years of software engineering experience at a senior/lead level.
Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot; hands-on with microservices.
Design distributed systems with scalability and performance in mind.
Experience with AWS and PCF; familiarity with Akamai CDN.
Ability to automate code quality, performance testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture and design reviews; drive standards across Citi's digital platform.
Organize and mentor cross-functional engineering teams for large initiatives.
Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and roadmaps.
Collaborate with TPMs and engineering managers to assess risks and plans.
Contribute to NGA/Plan of Record projects and design pattern adoption.
