Akebia is seeking an experienced Vice President, Intellectual Property to head its IP function and manage complex IP matters. Based in Cambridge/Waltham, MA, you will partner with R&D and CMC teams to identify patent opportunities and develop portfolio strategies, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer.

You will counsel executives and the board, lead due diligence for in-licensing, oversee outside counsel, and drive IP risk management in a fast-paced biopharma environment.

Qualifikationen

• J.D. and patent bar admission required.
• PhD in Organic Chemistry or Biology (or similar).
• Experience with small molecule and/or biologic patents.
• Strong litigation experience.
• At least 10 years of legal experience in biopharma settings.
• Ability to build cross-functional relationships.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
