The role partners with the CMO and CNO to drive daily performance, staffing, and service excellence within the hospital's operations and market initiatives. Extensive experience in hospital administration and strategic growth is required.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of management experience required.
  • Experience with hospital administration and leadership roles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership to the hospital executive team and resolve staff, patient, and vendor issues.
  • Participate in Medical Executive Committees and sponsor IT initiatives for the hospital; coordinate with medical staff.
  • Oversee staffing, onboarding, performance management, and professional development.
  • Review clinical, financial, and customer service performance; monitor scorecards and drive improvement.
  • Develop growth and operating plans; manage revenue and expenses and execute growth strategies.
  • Promote quality outcomes, ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards, and liaise with external partners.

Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY

Position provides leadership and management oversight to the assigned hospital to meet all performance metrics including financial, quality/safety, patient experience and people. Works for the assigned hospital to align hospital specific performance to the overall strategic initiatives of the organization. Leads the CMO and CNO in a matrix-based reporting relationship to ensure optimal daily performance of all operational areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provides daily leadership to the hospital executive team, physicians, leaders and direct oversight to the C Suite team. Resolves problems and complaints for staff, patients, physicians, visitors and vendors.
  • Actively participates in Medical Executive Committees, and other Medical Staff Committees. Serves as executive sponsor for IT initiatives in their hospital. Interacts with hospital-specific medical directors and attending staff, especially for service coverage. Supports and facilitates business development of the hospital and within the market area. Actively casts the net with key constituents regarding new programs, technologies, procedures and processes.
  • Oversees the staff and ensures adequate staffing levels, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching and developing employees ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with our mission, vision, and values. Ensures compliance with all policies, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of department budget. Plans, coaches and develops succession of self and direct reports. Provides education and development for staff and physicians as appropriate.
  • Regularly reviews clinical, financial and customer service performance for the hospital. Monitors balanced scorecards and develops action plans to continually improve all areas of operations. Reviews performance of physician and vendor contracts, and is responsible for negotiating assigned agreements within areas of responsibility.
  • Develops plans for new business and growth of existing business. Achieves operating and capital budget goals and assumes daily responsibilities for revenue and expense management. Assumes primary responsibility for the execution of all growth plans and daily capacity management.
  • Acts as an advocate, promotes and ensures quality products/outcomes. Implements and actively supports initiatives to improve quality, service, patient safety, and patient satisfaction. Improves service excellence and assures performance improvement at assigned hospitals. Ensures compliance with DNV, Medicare, State of Arizona, DHS, and other federal and state laws for areas of responsibility. Serves as representative to various consultants, vendors, community organizations and others.
