Job summary

Beemac Logistics is seeking a commercially driven Vice President of Specialized Logistics to lead and expand our heavy haul, over dimensional, overweight, project, and high value freight business. This player-coach role reports to the CEO and directly sells and prices specialized freight, supporting our sales reps from booking to delivery.

Based in Beaver, Pennsylvania, travel to customer sites and carrier meetings is expected.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in heavy haul, over dimensional, overweight, or project freight.
• Experience coordinating over dimensional and overweight shipments, including equipment, permits, routing, and escorts.
• Proven ability to price complex freight, evaluate carrier costs, and negotiate rates.
• Experience selling, coaching, or supporting others in a sales or account management role.
• An existing book of business or established relationships in heavy haul or project freight.
• Exposure to high value industrial, construction, energy, machinery, or project cargo preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of heavy haul, over dimensional, overweight, project, and high value freight, with direct oversight of complex shipments.
• Review dimensions, weight, equipment, routing, permits, and escorts before booking, and stay involved once in transit.
• Act as the primary specialized logistics resource and liaison for sales reps, supporting customer calls, technical questions, and pricing.
• Develop accurate quotes by evaluating carrier rates, equipment, permits, escorts, and routing costs; approve pricing on high value loads.
• Build and manage relationships with heavy haul carriers, permitting services, escort providers, and other vendors.
• Oversee high value freight risk controls, including carrier qualification, insurance, tracking, security, and escalation procedures.
• Develop SOPs and KPIs for specialized freight and train teams for better service and scalability.
• Coach and support sales reps on qualifying specialized freight and pricing; partner with leadership to grow the business.
