Job summary

Via Licensing Alliance, a Dolby Laboratories subsidiary, seeks an executive leader to drive business development and technology strategy for patent pool programs. The role combines external engagement, technical evaluation and commercial planning, reporting to the President of Via Licensing Alliance.

The position requires deep IP licensing experience, strong negotiation skills, and cross-functional collaboration with licensing, legal, finance, and AI teams.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in business development, licensing, technology strategy, or related fields.
• Deep familiarity with intellectual property, patent licensing, and/or patent pools (e.g., SEPs, FRAND frameworks).
• Strong technical understanding of semiconductor technologies, AI/ML systems, or data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize new patent pool opportunities in high-growth tech sectors (AI, memory, data center, connectivity).
• Develop and execute business cases for new licensing programs, including market sizing and revenue modeling.
• Lead outreach to licensors and strategic partners to build program participation and alignment.
