Job summary

Via Licensing Alliance, a subsidiary of Dolby Laboratories, is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development & Technology to identify and advance new patent pool opportunities. You will build business cases, engage with patent owners, and coordinate with legal, licensing, finance, and tech teams to shape licensing programs.

The role is highly collaborative, externally facing, and located in San Francisco with a hybrid in-office schedule—three days per week (Tue-Thu).

Qualifications

• 8+ years in business development or IP/licensing roles.
• Experience in tech markets like semiconductors, AI, data centers.
• Knowledge of SEP/FRAND concepts is preferred.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into commercial strategy.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new patent pool programs and licensing opportunities.
• Build market analyses, business cases, and go-to-market plans.
• Engage with patent owners, tech firms, and standards bodies.
• Collaborate with legal, licensing, finance, and engineering teams.
• Present strategic recommendations to senior management.
