Job summary

William Blair is seeking a VP to lead day-to-day execution of GP-led secondary transactions in a high-visibility role based in New York. You will coordinate across sponsors, investors, counsel, and internal teams while owning transaction structuring, modeling, diligence, and execution strategy.

You will build buyer processes, present to clients, and deepen sponsor relationships, partnering with senior bankers to originate mandates. Travel 20–30% and manage multiple live processes simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 3+ years in investment banking preferred.
• Experience in GP-led secondary advisory or secondary investments preferred.
• Strong valuation, modeling, and returns analysis skills.
• Proven multi-tasking across live transaction processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; leadership ability.
• Willingness to travel 20–30%.
• SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 required within 150 days.

Responsibilities

• Serve as day-to-day execution lead on continuation fund and GP-led transactions, coordinating workstreams across sponsors, investors, counsel, and internal teams.
• Own transaction structuring, returns modeling, diligence, and execution strategy.
• Build and manage the buyer process, including investor targeting, diligence coordination, GP/management presentations, and closing support.
• Lead drafting of confidential information presentations, pitch materials, and market/valuation analyses; present to clients.
• Develop and deepen relationships with sponsors and secondary investors; partner with senior bankers to originate new mandates.
• Anticipate and resolve transaction issues; maintain momentum across multiple assignments.
• Train and develop Analysts and Associates: set objectives, share deal context, provide feedback.
• Stay current on secondary market trends, pricing, structures, terms, and investor sentiment.
