Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise seeks a visionary Vice President, Cyber Defense to lead the enterprise strategy and capabilities that protect our people, products, customers, and global operations. This executive will oversee four core areas: Cyber Defense Center operations, Insider Threat & Investigations, Threat Intelligence, and Detection Engineering.

The ideal candidate can scale global teams, translate evolving threats into measurable business outcomes, and build a high‑performing organization

Qualifications

• Executive-level experience leading large-scale global cybersecurity teams.
• Deep expertise in incident response, threat hunting, threat intelligence, detection engineering, and insider threat.
• Proven success building Cyber Defense Centers, red/purple teams, and intelligence-led defense capabilities.
• Strong understanding of modern adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Experience with security platforms including SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR and analytics.
• Ability to translate cyber risk into business impact and communicate with executives.
• Advanced credentials (CISSP/CISM/GIAC/CCSP) or MBA valued.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise cyber defense strategy, operating model, and roadmap.
• Lead global teams across Cyber Defense Center operations, insider threat investigations, and threat intelligence.
• Drive detection engineering, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled SOC capabilities.
• Improve detection fidelity, response speed, and enterprise resilience.
• Collaborate with CISO and executives to align cyber defense with business priorities.
