Job summary

WSP is seeking a Vice President, Geotechnical Engineer in Atlanta, GA to lead the CGEM team and grow our ground engineering practice. You will mentor staff, manage complex projects, and expand client relationships across power, commercial, transportation, and water markets.

You will apply advanced geotechnical knowledge to design, permitting, and construction activities while ensuring safety, QA/QC, and on‑time delivery. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geotechnical or geotech-focused civil engineering.
• 12+ years of post-education geotechnical experience.
• Georgia PE license or ability to obtain within six months.
• Strong geotechnical principles, design and QA/QC knowledge.
• Proficient technical writing, analysis, and coordination with teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for a growing geotechnical practice and mentor staff.
• Develop client base and pursue ground engineering opportunities in the southeast.
• Lead projects with budgets, schedules, and technical quality control.
• Coordinate across lines of business for multi-discipline projects.
• Engage with clients, present proposals, and negotiate contracts.
