Job summary

BNY Wealth is seeking a Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer to join the Structured Debt Client Platform Engineering team in Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on building scalable backend services, modern Angular front-ends, and modular frontend frameworks within a distributed microservices environment.

You will work on API design, secure coding practices, and collaboration with product managers, QA, and DevOps to ensure reliable, maintainable software and robust deployment pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with WebLogic Portal and J2EE technologies.
• 5+ years fintech or similar environment experience preferred.
• Proven experience with Angular, NgRx, RxJS and micro-frontend architectures.
• 3+ years designing and developing microservices using Java/Spring Boot and Node.js.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Windsurf IDE or similar) and integration.
• Experience with REST concepts and technologies (REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, YAML, GraphQL, Swagger).
• Experience writing RESTful web services with Spring/JAX-RS.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Services and Oracle RDBMS.
• Security-focused secure coding practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in large teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
• Build and enhance modern Angular applications using TypeScript, NgRx, and Nx for micro frontend architecture.
• Architect and contribute to a modular frontend framework supporting multiple apps via Nx workspaces and shared libraries.
• Develop and consume APIs in a distributed microservices environment emphasizing reliability and testability.
• Implement structured logging and integrate with monitoring tools and log aggregators (e.g., Splunk, ELK).
• Collaborate with DevOps to define and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab for secure build, test, and deployments.
• Apply TDD/BDD practices with Jasmine, Karma, Cucumber, JUnit, and Mockito.
