Job summary

BNY Mellon is seeking a Vice President, Full Stack Engineer to join the Liquidity and Margin Platform and Engineering team in Pittsburgh/NY. This role focuses on designing and delivering enterprise-scale distributed applications and modern cloud-native services.

You will work with Product Owners, Architects and SMEs, mentor juniors, drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, and observability, and collaborate with teams across the UK, US and India.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot background for enterprise applications.
• Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, MQ or messaging systems.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle/DB2).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
• Solid software-architecture understanding and design patterns.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support enterprise-scale distributed applications.
• Build cloud-native and event-driven services for banking capabilities.
• Develop applications, REST APIs, backend services, and data integration.
• Modernize legacy capabilities into scalable microservices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects and SMEs to translate requirements.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technology selection.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Design highly available, 24x7 capable systems and ensure resilience.
• Drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, testing, and observability practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across global teams.
• Collaborate with teams in UK, US and India.
