Job summary

Carlyle in Washington, DC seeks a Vice President, Forward Deployed Product Engineer to own end-to-end Global Private Equity (GPE) applications. You will embed with Deal Teams and Fund Management, delivering production-ready software that improves sourcing, diligencing, execution, and monitoring of deals.

The role requires 10+ years of software experience, strong Python and React skills, and hands-on work with enterprise data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field required.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of business-critical apps.
• Experience with Python production systems and enterprise data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of GPE applications end-to-end from discovery to production.
• Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications using Python backend and React/Next.js frontend.
• Develop scalable APIs, services, and data pipelines integrating Snowflake and external data.
• Prototype rapidly against real data and harden prototypes into production-grade software.
• Set and uphold high standards for code quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Embed with Deal Teams and Fund Management to learn workflows and surface high-value problems.
• Drive adoption with end users through enablement, demos, and feedback loops.
• Build AI-enabled functionality including LLM copilots and RAG workflows.
• Mentor engineers and align delivery with Head of GPE Engineering and peers.
• Contribute to roadmap, governance, and technical documentation.
