Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking a hands-on Manager, Global Private Equity Data and AI Engineer to lead AI and data engineering on a cloud platform (Snowflake, dbt, AWS) spanning portfolio data, deals, funds, and valuations. You will own AI-enabled tools and integrations, enabling investment teams to work with governed data.

You will lead a team of contract engineers, ensure data accuracy, security, and reliability, and collaborate with finance, investor relations and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; quantitative discipline preferred.
• 7+ years of software engineering, data engineering, or technical analytics.
• 3+ years building and operating production software or data solutions for business stakeholders.
• 2+ years leading engineering delivery, backlog ownership, and coding standardization.
• Strong Python and SQL; experience with C#/.NET or TypeScript.
• Proven experience shipping LLM-powered applications to production with tool use and agents.
• Hands-on with Snowflake, dbt, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure); CI/CD and IaC (Terraform).
• Knowledge of security, data governance, and auditability for data and AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy LLM-powered tools, agents and integrations for investment, valuation and fund teams.
• Define evaluation cases, regression suites and acceptance criteria for AI features; measure accuracy and latency.
• Ensure security, governance and auditability; implement guardrails and monitoring.
• Lead and mentor contract developers and data engineers; set technical direction and review designs.
• Maintain governed data models, metadata and lineage for trusted reporting.
