Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking a Forward Deployed Product Engineer, Global Private Equity Technology in Washington, DC. This role builds business‑critical applications and AI-enabled workflows, partnering with Deal Teams, Fund Management, and the GPE organization to drive automation and measurable value across the investment lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building applications using Python.
• Frontend experience with React/Next.js.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL (Snowflake, Databricks, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with AI/LLM integration (RAG, agentic workflows).
• Strong collaboration with business users and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features of GPE applications from design to deployment.
• Develop full-stack functionality (Python backend, React/Next.js frontend).
• Create APIs, data pipelines, and data integrations across enterprise data platforms.
• Prototype quickly against real data and productionize successful concepts.
• Ensure code quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
