Job summary

The League of Conservation Voters, Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a Vice President, Government Relations & Political Affairs to lead federal government relations and coordinated political activities.

This senior role requires deep policy and campaign experience, strong relationship-building, and a commitment to environmental justice. The position is a Regular Hybrid Work arrangement; in-office presence in DC at least two days per week is required.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in issue advocacy, Capitol Hill, or electoral campaigns.
• Ability to set high-level strategy linking political strategy to campaign advocacy.
• Commitment to racial justice and equity in environment and policy work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive federal government relations strategy to advance climate and democracy goals.
• Serve as senior lobbyist and external representative, building relationships with Congress staff.
• Manage federal candidate endorsements and coordinate with campaigns and committees.
• Oversee coordinated political activities, including budgets and field programs.
• Lead communications strategy, including polling and message research.
• Mentor a team of three direct reports and work cross-departmentally.
