Job summary

HarbourVest Partners is seeking a Vice President, Investment Specialist to drive growth of private equity evergreen solutions for wealth and institutional investors. The role collaborates with Investor Relations and Private Wealth teams to win new business and develop cross-functional capabilities.

The candidate will educate internal partners, present to clients, and manage RFPs and client responses to ensure quality submissions.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of private market evergreen vehicles and a deep knowledge of private equity and the private wealth market.
• Excellent presentation and client engagement skills with the ability to tailor information based on the audience.
• Strong relationship management skills to partner with HarbourVest Investment and Investor Relations teams as well as external prospects and clients.
• Strong investment and analytical competence.
• Strong written skills.
• High level of maturity and ability to multi-task with little supervision.
• Entrepreneurial approach with forward-thinking and ability to work without a playbook.
• Willingness to travel.
• Understanding of the investment process.
• Understanding of quantitative investment measurements and statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Support sales by bringing in-depth vehicle and market expertise to prospect and client meetings.
• Support Investor Relations in discussions with private wealth prospects, clients, distribution partners and institutional investors.
• Discuss the broader investment landscape and client portfolios to frame opportunities.
• Propose solutions to client challenges considering operational impact and wider business context.
• Understand competitors, fundraising trends and industry dynamics.
• Engage internal teams to collect market feedback for product evolution.
