Job description

VP, Enterprise Operations & Strategic Finance
LevelUp | Austin, Texas | Full-Time | In Person
About LevelUp

LevelUp is the enterprise operating platform supporting a group of founder-led financial-services businesses. We connect shared capabilities across finance, business intelligence, technology, systems, people, operations and growth to help each business operate with greater visibility, discipline and scalability. This role joins the organization at an important stage of enterprise development, with the opportunity to strengthen the operating platform supporting continued growth.

The Opportunity

LevelUp is seeking an experienced finance and operations executive to work directly with the Founder/CEO and established functional leaders. This is an enterprise-building role for a leader who combines CFO-caliber financial capability, operating experience, people leadership, systems fluency and measurable transformation experience.

The VP will not replace established functional leaders. The role will connect enterprise priorities, economics, accountability, operating rhythm and execution across the leadership platform.

What You Will Lead
Strategic Finance
  • FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and liquidity management
  • Treasury, management reporting and financial controls
  • Multi-entity financial analysis, capital allocation and strategic decision support
Enterprise Operations
  • Enterprise priorities, operating cadence and cross-functional execution
  • Role clarity, decision rights, process ownership and resource allocation
  • Project governance, escalation, accountability and execution against commitments
Business Intelligence, Technology and Systems
  • Executive scorecards, dashboards, budget-to-actual reporting and forward-looking metrics
  • CRM, BI, financial systems, data integration and workflow automation
  • Practical AI initiatives tied to measurable business outcomes
People and Organizational Effectiveness
  • Organizational design, role clarity and leadership alignment
  • Talent assessment, performance management and leadership development
  • Succession planning, conflict resolution and accountability
Transformation and Commercial Performance
  • Modernize processes and platform operations
  • Connect efficiency and capacity improvements to customer experience, revenue, margin and enterprise value
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience across finance, operations, strategy or enterprise leadership
  • Significant people-management and cross-functional leadership experience with responsibility for business outcomes
  • Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, liquidity, management reporting and financial-control capability
  • Experience working directly with a Founder, CEO, Board or ownership group, or comparable executive exposure
  • Demonstrated success improving operating systems, management processes, accountability and organizational execution
  • Experience implementing, improving or governing ERP, accounting, CRM, BI, workflow, automation or AI-enabled processes
  • Strong executive communication, sound judgment, high emotional intelligence and the ability to challenge constructively
  • Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, multi-entity environment with incomplete infrastructure
  • Ability to work in person in Austin, Texas. This position does not offer a remote-work option
Preferred Background

Experience in financial services, wealth management, investment management, private equity, alternative investments, real estate, fintech, family office or another complex multi-entity environment is preferred. A CPA, MBA or comparable advanced financial background is valued, but demonstrated capability and results are more important than credentials alone.

Who Will Thrive Here
  • A financial leader who expanded into operations, people leadership and enterprise execution
  • A builder who has personally created or transformed systems, processes and management infrastructure
  • A practical operator who can introduce structure without unnecessary bureaucracy
  • A commercially minded leader who connects efficiency to revenue, capacity, customer value and growth
  • A trusted executive partner who can move between strategy and execution and challenge strong leaders constructively
What Success Looks Like
  • Clearer visibility into revenue, cost, cash, margin, liquidity, capacity and operating performance
  • Enterprise priorities with identifiable owners, measurable outcomes and reliable follow-through
  • Improved budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation and capital discipline
  • Stronger cross-functional leadership collaboration and faster issue resolution
  • More scalable operations through systems, automation and workflow improvement
  • Greater executive capacity that allows the Founder/CEO to focus on the areas of highest strategic value
Employment and Work Location
  • Full-time W-2 position
  • In-person position based in Austin, Texas
  • Remote work is not available for this position
Benefits
  • Health insurance

  • 401(k) matching
Compensation and Career Opportunity

Competitive executive compensation commensurate with experience and the final scope of responsibility. Additional details will be discussed during the selection process.

The position is designed with room to grow. Broader responsibility will be earned through performance and trust and may develop toward CFO, COO or broader enterprise leadership responsibility. No future title is guaranteed.
