Job summary

Bright Innovation Labs seeks a Vice President of Engineering to lead the manufacturing engineering organization across multiple sites in the U.S. You will own a 3–5+ year capacity strategy and capital roadmap, translating customer demand into facility, equipment and workforce plans, while driving continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• 7+ years leading engineering teams at the director or executive level.
• Bachelor's Degree in one of the Engineering Disciplines.
• Experience in contract manufacturing and high‑volume, high‑mix, variable‑volume manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret company strategy and policy and translate them into deliverable objectives.
• Demonstrated experience developing long‑term capacity strategies and capital investment roadmaps.
• Experience supporting new program launches, RFQ/quoting, and customer‑facing engineering.
• Proven track record leading Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's engineering strategy aligned with organizational goals and own the long-term capacity strategy and capital investment roadmap.
• Oversee manufacturing, project, and process engineering to ensure cost-effective operations across the site(s).
• Lead engineering support for new customer program launches, including RFQ/quoting, DFM reviews, and PPAP qualification.
• Manage production-line equipment and vendor relationships to specify and maintain equipment for capacity goals.
• Drive OEE, cycle time, scrap, throughput with measurable targets alongside Operations and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure ISO 22716 and customer audit readiness.
• Balance engineering resources across multiple programs and manage high-mix scheduling and contingency planning.
• Oversee capital management from development to tracking with a focus on capacity expansion.
• Promote automation and data-driven decision-making across manufacturing systems.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
