Dow Jones Energy is seeking a Vice President - Head of Consulting to lead our bespoke energy consulting practice across public and private sectors in Houston, Texas. You will own strategy, growth, and external profile, translating data-driven insights into high-impact engagements for corporate, government, and multilateral clients.

Lead a high-performing team, shape the value proposition, and drive delivery excellence while traveling up to 40% of the time.

Qualifications

• 20+ years’ experience in energy, chemical, or commodity consulting space.
• Led an advisory business with $20M+ revenue with full P&L accountability.
• Experience presenting at industry conferences to c-suite decision makers.
• Proven experience scaling a professional services business with delivery models, talent pipelines, and operating discipline.
• Experience delivering advisory work for public sector (government, defense, multilateral) and private sector (corporate, financial) clients.
• Knowledge of key players and competitors in energy and chemical consulting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
• History of successful stakeholder management at executive levels.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute the growth strategy for the Energy Consulting business, setting clear commercial, brand, and delivery targets.
• Ensure the consulting team meets or exceeds business development and growth targets.
• Drive the evolution and scaling of the consulting practice — operating model, talent and delivery capabilities.
• Own the business with a focus on customer value, output quality, business margin, expert utilization, and delivery efficiency across engagements.
• Design, champion, and evolve the Energy Consulting value proposition and differentiated offerings.
• Serve as a senior external face of the business to shape market understanding of energy/chemicals dynamics.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Research and Community leadership to translate analytics into engagements.
• Support business development and consulting operations with travel up to 40%.
