Job summary

Giga Energy seeks a VP, Project Development to own everything between site selection and construction. You’ll be embedded with a development team and local jurisdictions to take end-to-end ownership of getting each site shovel-ready as fast as possible.

This role thrives under schedule pressure, building relationships with agencies and utilities early, and thinking in parallel workstreams rather than sequential checklists.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years delivering complex, multi-agency development or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing entitlements, permitting, and utility coordination.
  • Strong technical literacy — able to converse with civil, electrical, and structural engineers.
  • Exceptional relationship-building with government agencies, utilities, and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Build agency relationships before they are needed and manage permits and variances.
  • Lead utility coordination with power, water, and telecom providers.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, and electrical engineers to create complete permit packages.
  • Manage environmental assessments and site constraints.
  • Represent Giga Energy at public hearings and community meetings.
  • Create and maintain detailed development schedules tracking milestones.
