About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use): 14

What we do:

Through our proprietary automated sales and marketing platform, Mastermind, we empower dealers to close more deals by predicting future buyers and consistently marketing to them. We help automotive dealerships generate success in their loyalty, service, and conquest portfolios through turnkey predictive analytics, proactive marketing, and dedicated consultative services.

A successful VP, Data Engineering will:

1. Lead multiple engineering teams across global locations to build best-in-class data platforms and solutions for the automotive retail industry.
2. Be responsible for delivery throughout the development lifecycle, focusing on performance, scalability, quality, and reliability.
3. Establish processes and best practices around development standards, tech stack evolution, delivery, and maintenance.
4. Manage and scale engineering teams through hands-on leadership within an Agile/Scrum environment.
5. Optimize processes and team structures for effective execution.
6. Set the technical direction, drive system architecture evolution, and make technology choices.
7. Architect, design, and build solutions on cloud-native architectures, big data, and AI/ML analytics.
8. Advocate for the engineering function, influencing the company's roadmap with a balance of new features and technical improvements.
9. Develop talent, share knowledge, and mentor team members.
10. Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, Product, Commercial, and Operations teams.
11. Foster a collaborative, engaging, and fun culture.

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, passion, customer focus, and a drive to create industry-leading products.
• 17+ years in engineering and 9+ years in management.
• Solid foundation in data architecture, design, and development.
• Experience building data platforms on cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure) using Python or similar languages.
• Proven experience managing global teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s or advanced degree/certification preferred.
• Experience with BigQuery, Apache Spark, Apache Beam, or similar workflows is a plus.
• Automotive industry experience is a plus.

Compensation/Benefits (US):

• Base salary range: $213,000 to $277,000, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.

Expected Hours of Work:

Full-time, generally Monday to Friday, with potential holiday/weekend work. Hybrid schedule with at least two days in the office.
