Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking a VP of Operations to join one of our top clients for an onsite opportunity in Chantilly, VA.

The role leads the strategic direction and daily operations of data center facilities, with a focus on reliability, security, and service delivery in a colocation environment. You will oversee facility-wide operations, drive process improvements, manage P&L and vendor contracts, ensure compliance with industry standards, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to support growth and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, Business, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of data center operations management experience leading teams.
• Experience with P&L management and negotiating with vendors for contracts.
• Deep knowledge of data center infrastructure: power, cooling, networking, controls, security.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational management of data center facilities focusing on efficiency, security, and service quality.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans for facility growth and improvement.
• Drive operational excellence through process optimization, vendor negotiations, and cost management.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage teams and coordinate cross-departmental initiatives to support organizational goals.
