Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Data Center Operations to join a leading client in Chicago, IL. You will oversee the daily data center operations, manage large-scale electrical and mechanical systems, and drive reliability and efficiency.

You will lead a technical team, coordinate vendor engagements, and ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and industry safety standards while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people-management skills to oversee technical teams.
• Experience coordinating vendors, budgets, and project scopes for data center operations.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project management software; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day data center operations for reliability and safety.
• Manage electrical and mechanical systems including chillers and generators.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, OSHA and safety standards; lead continuous improvement.
• Lead vendor relationships, project timelines, and budget development.
• Coach and manage technical staff in a fast-paced environment.
