Job summary

State Street is seeking a Vice President, Business Information Security Officer (BISO) to oversee cyber risk management across lines of business and legal entities. The role sits in the first line of defense, reports to the Senior BISO, and leads a small team delivering cyber advisory services and threat models.

The candidate will partner with senior leaders, guide risk-based decisions, and drive metrics/communications to strengthen cyber resilience in a global financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work-aligned experience.
• CISSP or CISM required; additional certifications valued.
• Emerging-tech / AI security certification a strong plus.
• 5+ years of experience working with business leadership across enterprise projects.
• Strong analytical, communication, research, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior business and technology leaders through timely data delivery to enable informed decision-making, prioritization, and risk-based trade-offs.
• Oversee and actively manage risks in line with risk appetite through ongoing business unit engagement.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify information assets and assess protection needs for the line of business and legal entities.
• Perform cyber risk assessments at application, platform, and system levels and develop threat models.
• Integrate information security risk review into lifecycle processes including Incident Management, Vulnerability Management, Third-Party Risk Review, and Change Management.
• Represent the global cybersecurity organization on business and risk committees and forums.
• Prepare and deliver executive-ready presentations on protection needs, threat models, and control results.
• Report significant changes in information security risk to management.
