Job summary

State Street is seeking a Vice President, Business Information Security Officer to lead a small team, embedding security across lines of business. You will translate risk into practical controls and partner with senior leaders to strengthen cyber risk management.

The role combines traditional technology risk and emerging digital asset services, including blockchain risk, HSMs, custody, wallet security, and incident readiness. You will report to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information security and assurance, or a related technical field or equivalent work aligned experience.
• CISSP/CISP preferred.
• Blockchain and digital asset security certifications (e.g., CBSP) are desirable.
• At least 6 years of information security experience, with 4+ years within financial services.
• Experience with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework; AWS or Azure cloud security preferable.
• Experience with business concepts including finance, requirements, compliance, and risk management.
• Familiarity with regional regulatory guidance across supported jurisdictions.
• Practical experience with blockchain, digital assets, tokenization, custody, wallet infrastructure, HSM-based key management, cold storage, and transaction signing controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team to support aligned business stakeholders and execute a cyber book of work.
• Partner with senior leaders through timely data delivery to enable informed decisions.
• Oversee and manage risks in line with risk appetite with ongoing engagement.
• Perform cyber risk assessments at application, platform, and system levels.
• Integrate information security risk reviews into lifecycle processes.
• Represent GCS in control committees and with executives.
• Prepare executive-ready presentations on protection needs and risk outcomes.
• Advise on blockchain and digital asset risk across tokenization and custody.
• Challenge custody and key management designs including HSM usage.
• Coordinate with various teams to define practical digital asset control expectations.
