Position Overview

Reporting to the Chief Credit Officer- CCF, this role involves performing credit investigations, evaluating customer creditworthiness (typically $1 million to $20 million), and making recommendations within guidelines for transactions across various platforms, including plastics, packaging, construction, and more. The role requires significant interaction with sales and other departments to ensure timely transaction adjudication. The candidate will utilize various systems and tools for credit evaluation. This is not a managerial position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis of business customers, vendors, and industry conditions for commercial loan and lease transactions.
  • Analyze credit requests, financial statements, perform cash flow analysis, and make decisions within guidelines.
  • Prepare detailed reports, approval summaries, and industry studies to support lending decisions.
  • Participate in creditworthiness discussions and present findings to management.
  • Handle complex, mid to large dollar transactions requiring unique structures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business units and the Credit Committee.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding credit transactions, assisting with structuring and risk issues.
  • Process appeals and modifications to decisions.
  • Support sales and team members; may involve travel for customer visits.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience as a commercial credit analyst, with increasing signing authority preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or equivalent experience; MBA a plus.
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn are essential.
  • Team-player attitude and adaptability are critical.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, PC skills, especially Excel.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of bank credit rating, modeling systems, and credit processes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work under pressure.
  • Effective presentation skills for management communication.
  • Workout knowledge or supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other bank applications.
