VP Business Lending Officer - Landmark Credit Union (Fox Valley)

Summary | NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to the SVP, Business Services. The VP Business Lending Officer sells and services business loans, depository accounts, and other relevant products to existing and new business members, with a focus on CRE. Responsibilities include conducting discussions with prospective and existing members, achieving sales and service goals, and developing the Fox Valley, Wisconsin market.

Responsibilities | PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Establishes and manages a proactive calling program targeting existing and prospective business members.
2. Interviews applicants for business loans and deposit services.
3. Gathers financial information to underwrite loans per Landmark’s policies.
4. Collaborates with the Team Lead, Underwriter, or Portfolio Manager to underwrite loans or underwrites directly when necessary.
5. Presents loan requests to the Business Loan Committee when appropriate.
6. Coordinates with Documentation personnel to ensure proper loan documentation and reviews all documents for accuracy.
7. Ensures all documentation complies with policies before closing loans.
8. Resolves loan exceptions promptly.
9. Monitors ongoing business relationships to minimize risks.
10. Performs loan reviews and renewals as per policies.
11. Mentors and trains branch staff in identifying potential business relationships.
12. Grows the business loan portfolio and deposits, and promotes related products and services.
13. Cross-sells other Landmark products and services.
14. Participates in collection activities for loans and accounts.
15. Represents Landmark in the community through involvement in local activities and organizations.
16. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications | REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of business lending experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Initially remote position; must have a dedicated, quiet workspace and high-speed internet. Residence in the Fox Valley, WI, is preferred.
• Credit-skilled lender with knowledge of laws and regulations related to business lending.
• Proven sales skills with success in generating new customers.
• Experience or ability to learn systems related to deposit and loan products.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to exercise judgment and maintain confidentiality.
• Understanding of company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
