Job summary

Milhaus, a nationally recognized real estate platform, is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee accounting operations for corporate, development/construction, and property management activities. You will ensure GAAP compliance, internal controls, and timely financial reporting while partnering with executives on forecasts and strategic insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience in a multi-discipline real estate company.
• Significant experience in real estate development, construction accounting, real estate investment or property management.
• Experience managing audits and multi-entity accounting environments.
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and debt covenants; oversee audits with external auditors.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial analyses, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
