Job summary

The Goldman Sachs Group is seeking an experienced software engineer in Core Engineering to build and operate platforms, data solutions, models, and analytics powering critical risk, controls, and reporting functions. You will collaborate globally with sponsors and engineers, leveraging Java, Python, and AI-assisted tools to deliver end-to-end solutions across complex data workloads.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field of study.
• 5+ years professional software development experience
• Expertise in Java and/or Python development.
• Experience in automated testing and SDLC concepts.
• The ability (and tenacity) to clearly express ideas and arguments in meetings and on paper.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted developer tools to accelerate delivery.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs and maintain production-grade quality.

Responsibilities

• Partner globally with sponsors, users and engineering colleagues across multiple divisions to create end-to-end solutions.
• Learn from experts.
• Leverage technologies including Java, Python, PySpark, SQL, Hadoop, Snowflake, Iceberg, Kafka, Kubernetes.
• Apply analytical and functional skills to design surveillance processes to identify risks.
• Be involved in the full life cycle: define, design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software across products.
